Patience Is A Virtue

Well it has been almost a month since I updated my blog. There's not many plants to photograph in Mid-December. But fortunately for me , after an entire year of watering and a transplant, my Christmas cactus gave me a surprise! This Christmas cactus came from a piece of my mom's Christmas cactus that got ripped off in a Christmas tree decorating freak accident last year. It grew like a weed for the whole year, and even outgrew the small pot I planted it in, so I had to move it into the Hexagon bamboo porcelain pot. It's a little dusty because I was afraid that if I move it the extremely fragile flower will fall off. Well I hope my Amaryllis bulb will be as lucky.

Thank you so much! My mom has an old Christmas cactus, (4 years old maybe?) and it's always filled with those little pink flowers around Christmas time. Mine is only one year old and had two flowers this Christmas. Next year I expect an ever more wonderful surprise from it.
